After the too short but very intense encounter with Anne-Sophie, owner of the Auberge des VoyaJoueurs, we again live some beautiful experiences of hitchhikers before a sweet family break at Pirial s / Mer. And then, here we go again : Nantes, La Roche s / Yon and finally Vendée. Our heads almost turn. The (hop)innovations that we find are delighting us. Or rather the women and the men driving those findings. Human, conviviality, sharing; these words, these concepts are redundant over and the road …
The dark forest (Brocéliande) – Piriac : surprise and delight[one_half]
Anne-Sophie drops us off at La Gacilly, where we enjoy our last Breton galette (sort of salted pancake). Emotion is palpable. A pictures’ festival that anime galleries and streets of the little village[/one_half] [one_half_last]
provide an opportunity for a magnificent wonders in front of a Cadillac, with Armstrong walking on the moon as a background … Go figure![/one_half_last]
[box type=”note” ]Just outside the village, hang on there, it is Father Yannick, chaplain of Redon, who takes us to a few kilometers away.[/box] [one_half]
Discussions, a bit provocative (the opportunity to talk about a “better world” and interreligious exchanges and sharing with a priest are not legion) are lively, rich, and Justine gets almost reconciled with religion; or at least the religious. Humanity has an unfailing kindness.[/one_half] [one_half_last]
Then Frank gets us at the edge of a small village. “Hello sir, we are going on the peninsula of Guerande … Piriac. – This is my direction, hop in! – And where are you going? – Piriac! “. Unbelievable![/one_half_last]
[box type=”note” ]When it comes together like this, we feel we are 1000 percent right to hitchhike; and that life is well made.[/box] [one_half]
We ask Frank to let us 4 km before the destination so we can have a little walk among a little footpath along the coast … Happy moment.
Piriac, is good family time,
walks by the sea, a drink at the Fils à Maman La Baule (partners of our Tour de France), a thalassotherapy for Justine (gift she received for her last birthday) and hop! On the road again.[/one_half_last]
Nantes – La Roche s/ Yon – bocage vendéen[one_half]
We reach Nantes and La Roche s / Yon and finally Saint-Etienne du Bois with the help of few drivers: Hélène, Johnny (building contractor who love to ride – detour of nearly 100 km round trip to drop us off at Nantes), Damien, Christophe (who is renovating a ruin and invites us to a drink), Léonie (psychomotor in the south who is returning to her native Vendée for her summer job at the stud), Marion (nurse, waiting for her second child).
In Nantes, we have the chance to spend
the evening with our friends from TWAM Nantes, Evea Tourism and Nouvelles Conquêtes, to take breakfast with Cyrille (that we had not seen since 2011!), and the opportunity to spend the night in a indescribable artist bedroom of the hotel Pommeraye where Beatrice and Ali lend themselves to the interview Hopineo.
At La Roche s / Yon, we have an appointment with Lea and Marc from the WIFU project, that we invite you to discover immediately (!), before meeting our friends Mayon, Gustave and ‘Ti Jean.
[box type=”note” ]More encounters and sharing. It can seem a bit fool to always remember these words, but more more, they do echo ; they really are the engine of this adventure in which we are engaged, both us and Florie with her Hospitality Tour.[/box]
These encounters help us grow, they make us smile, they are the life we chose. Each one strengthens us.
